My name is Dennis Røller, and I started Cinemotion in 1997 in Oslo Norway. At the time I worked as an engineer in the process industry and worked part time as a videographer and SFX technician.
What was frustrating at the time was the limited access to good and affordable equipment to make nice cinematic motion, and equipment for making SFX. Remembering the impressed faces at the film school when I made my own jib for the graduation movie, I started thinking of simply making my own equipment since my interests always have been within mechanical engineering and electronics.

As the time vent by more and more people came about who had special needs regarding specialized equipment, so then the workshop grew with a mill, lathe and TIG welding equipment and finally in 2006 I got the first CNC machine in-house.

In the later years the accessibility of engineering parts has skyrocketed and prices dropped so it is easier than ever to even build your own CNC equipment, robots and motion control equipment. The availability of CAD and CAM software and 3D printers makes the possibilities even better.

Having high hopes for the future, and expect to build my own anti gravity drone soon :-)
